#1 Free Walking Tour
Every day at 10:30 the Free Walking Tour starts near Shed 10 at Queen’s Wharf. It takes a tour through Central Auckland and through the history of the city and New Zealand.
For a first impression of the city it’s a perfect opportunity. But also for people who don’t have much time to spend in the city of thousand sails it’s very recommandable.
The tour takes between two and three hours. In the end you are encouraged to give a small donation to the guide.

#2 Coast to Coast Walk
For people who enjoy walking I can recommend the coast to coast walkway. This walk is 15 km long and takes you through the city of Auckland. On the way you come along some scenic points such as Mt Eden or One Tree Hill.
A little tip: At the start there is a map of twhere the way will lead you. Take a photo of that map and take an electronic or paper map of the city with you. It sas that you simply have to follow the arrows of the walkway but at some point they are missing so that it’s not very clear where to go.
#3 Art Museum
In the case you are more into art and culture the art museum might be just right for you. It has free entry and is therefore perfevct for everyone travelling on a budget.
